Dear Hopewell Families, 

I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to share a meaningful opportunity to support our Hopewell Area SD students and our school community—we are continuing to recruit school bus drivers, and we need your help spreading the word and sharing this letter!  Whether you are looking for flexible, part-time work or a new way to give back to the community, driving a school bus for Hopewell Area SD can be a rewarding and fulfilling role. Even better—we will help you get started with FREE CDL training provided by the district. 

Why consider becoming a Hopewell Area SD school bus driver? 

-FREE CDL Class B training with School Bus and Passenger endorsements 

-Flexible, family-friendly hours for those seeking daily routes or substitute shifts 

-District owned bussing offers drivers access to a Public School Employees Retirement System pension. The regular bus-driver wage rate in 2024-25 is $23.90/Hour. 

-Summers, weekends, and holidays off while making a positive impact on HASD schools

Where: Hopewell’s Bus Garage located at: 2025 Maratta Rd, Aliquippa, PA 15001 

When: Thursday, May 1 (5:30PM – 7:00PM) OR Saturday, May 3 (10:00AM – 12:00PM) 

*Stop by the bus garage to meet our team, sit in a school bus driver’s seat, ask questions, and learn more about the job directly from our drivers—no pressure! 

Two Upcoming FREE CDL Training Sessions (Trainees attend Session 1 or Session 2, not both): 

Where: HASD Central Office – 2354 Brodhead Rd, Aliquippa, PA 15001 

When: Session 1: May 12, 13, 14, & 15 | 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM (Monday–Thursday)  OR 

Session 2: June 18, 19, 25, & 26 | 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM (Wednesdays & Thursdays)

The district is also seeking a full-time diesel mechanic ($29.44/Hour).
