Hopewell High School - Graduation Planning 2020

Hopewell High School – Graduation Planning 2020

There will be a 2020 HHS Graduation Ceremony, without a doubt!  This will be the 80th Hopewell High School Commencement program and we are extremely proud of our history and the accomplishments of the Class of 2020.  With the unique restrictions we face regarding public gatherings and ensuring the health and safety of our school community - what the 2020 Graduation will look like is still a plan in progress.  As we move into the next several weeks, a better understanding of current and future restrictions will come into place.

We are working on plans at this from the extremes of a traditional HHS graduation to a purely virtual graduation and many other scenarios that fall in between the two extremes.   We will do what we can to safely and legally provide recognition and honor to the outstanding young men and women in the Class of 2020.  We are considering alternative times, dates, and locations as may be necessary.  We are also considering various formats and changes to how it may have occurred in the past.

Honestly, it is just too soon to develop and share a complete plan.  Mr. Allison met with the class officers April 17th and they shared ideas and some options.  In the near future, look for a survey to collect input from seniors, information regarding potential alternative dates, and we currently have posted on Schoology a senior future plans document.  Please be patient and everything will come together!

NHS Inductees were announced today.  Induction plans will be shared soon. Check the website or Schoology or @Hopewell_Viking on Twitter.

May Day and the Senior Slide show are in the process – see next page for May Day info!

Locker cleanout, book return, library book return, technology return – are all in the planning phase and will be shared when info is available in May.

Cap and Gown Delivery will occur after May 1, information is forthcoming once confirmation is made from Jostens.

Stay safe, keep doing school work, and keep looking forward to your futures!

They will be here soon and they will be much brighter than our current challenges!
